Visit to Highland Park
We start in Highland Park with its sweeping panoramas of the city and Baku Bay laid before us. This is also the best spot for photographing Baku’s 21st-century icons - the astonishing trio of sinuous skyscrapers, appropriately nicknamed the ‘Flame Towers’.
Visit to the Old City
The ancient heart of Baku is Icheri Sheher, a magical maze of narrow lanes and alleyways that’s still mostly ringed by battlement-topped defensive walls erected in the 12th-century. You’ll pass by the mysterious Maiden Tower (Giz Galasy), a unique stone structure whose purpose is as unknown as its construction date – possibly as early as the 6th-century BC.
Passing by Shirvanshahs palace
You’ll explore the 15th-century Shirvanshahs’ Palace, once home to the noble dynasty under which Baku had its first major period of historical brilliance.
VISIT TO BAKU BOULEVARD
Then we stroll a section of the world’s longest urban promenade, learning about the time of its foundation over a century ago when Baku’s oil barons were building their elegant mansions along the Caspian shore.
PASSING BY THE LITTLE VENICE
We will pass by the Little Venice - amazing range of channels and islands, built on the Baku Boulevard
Passing by the Carpet Museum
The next stop is in front of the Carpet Museum which is the home to over 700 handicrafts, from magnificent hand-woven to the most exclusive acquisitions.
